Hi All, I'm 37 years of age and have owned Commodore machines since I was 9 (starting with a C64 and working my way through Amiga 1000 and finally Amiga 500).
A few weeks back I found a box while sorting through cupboards, when I opened it I found two Amiga 500's (Rev 3 and Rev 5) and two C64's (though I only ever had 1? hmm) and a heap of floppy disks. Googling pointed me to these forums, I started googling what can I do to replace ageing floppy disks (ideally looking for a HDD or an SD card solution) and finding many many post out about GoTek drives.
Since then I've ordered a GoTek drive, a GBS-8220 RGB-to-VGA converter, and made my own 23 pin cable to connect it all up.
Unfortunately only one of my A500's had a 512k memory expansion and that looks like it was destroyed years ago by corrosion, so I've just ordered a new board with RTC battery to replace it.
Joined up to start looking for an Amiga 1200 to purchase (which I've wanted since I was 11).
P.S. If you know where I can find one in Australia that would be great - I've scoured eBay but the postage and import taxes are a real killer. :dry:_>" smilieid="189" class="inlineimg">_>" smilieid="189" class="inlineimg">
Cheers
Ryan
