Howdy all:
I poked around and couldn't find information anywhere, so I was hoping to reach out to this forum.
I have a Golden Image external floppy drive for the Amiga. It's got a neat if somewhat otherwise impractical LED counter showing what block it's reading, which I recall I liked.
Unfortunately after I unpacked all of my Amiga stuff I found that it didn't work. It reads two blocks (?), 0 and I think 33, and then errors out....on the Amiga it just says "Bad Drive".
I have cleaned it all out and just finished regreasing everything and making sure the heads are all cleaned, and will be checking it again tomorrow to make sure. Everything looks good and nothing looks discolored as near as i can tell.
However, over the course of looking it all over I found there's a switch on the upper back that has four positions, 0/1/2/3. It was set to "0" and given that it was working when I put it all away I'm 99% sure I never tweaked it at all....I was surprised there ARE any different positions, frankly. Does anybody have any idea what this switch DOES?
On a related note, other than the manual (three languages) there's zero else I've got in terms of documentation. If anybody has any more information about this puppy I'd appreciate it.
So...just a general callout for information if anybody has anything...thanks!
