I got home late from work tonight.

Why? That's because I hit a :censored: :censored: :censored: pothole in the road. I pulled over right away and I've noticed a :censored: bulge, about 2cm diameter in the outer sidewall of the driver's side front tyre, aaaaaarrrrrggghhhhhh!!

This is gonna cost me a new bloody low-profile typre for my Pug 1007, I bet that won't be cheap.

The :censored: council don't give a :censored: stuff, as they haven't fixed it since January. I suppose it could have been worse, I've heard of suspension springs breaking and steering getting written off by these :censored: holes.

Humbug!! Not happy at all!!

:mad::mad::mad:

Edit: I've just started Googling around and £90 :wooha: for a tyre? Is it made of Gold-Pressed Latinum, FFS?

I think I need to lie down..... Prices start at £53, but that's for a cheapy-cheap tyre of unknown brand. The cheapest decent brand at national tyres is £103.80 all-in. I feel faint......

Here in Holland the Council is actually liable for damages caused by neglegent road management/maintenance....

I do hate it when it happens, luckily it doesn't often happen here, raod quality is actually pretty good, as is maintenance.

Good luck!

I hear ya brother.

Last year I actually broke a wheel due to a pothole.

Big chunk of alloy on the rim just fell off and of course a flat tire was to follow.

Had to go to a junk yard to find a replacement wheel that exactly matched mine on my Acura unless I wanted to be :censored: in the :censored: by the local dealer.

$400 for a single wheel...no thank you. $80 sounds much nicer. Plus since its aged, it matched better with my remaining 3 wheels.

Would be nice if someone would actually be held accountable for road maintenance. I pay taxes so this kind of stuff gets fixed. But then it doesn't and it still damages my car and I have to more money, again.

Thats almost like being double taxed!

B@stards!

Some of the bl00dy councils don't fix the pot holes, though; they see them as free speed bumps, a way to get drivers to slow down!!

Blimey, I'd be late home every night if I owned a 1007.

I'm kidding mate ;) but I have never known such terrible roads like the ones around my area (norfolk and suffolk). I guess I havnt had an issue with them yet due to being so used to them, though its only a matter of time...

You wouldn't be saying that if you had to cough up over £100 (€160) per tyre, I bet....

@ Tokyo

The cost is due to the Sport model (sic) having low-profile tyres. I bet the standard Dolce model's tyres are cheaper.

90 pounds for a tire, that is very cheap. I paid 300 eu for two tires, for a B brand. Not bridgestone, firestone..

I had exactly the same, hit a huge hole..

mm prove it, I avoided the problem, since I had 30.000 km on the front tires, good to go for another 10.000 or 20.000 km, but worn enough... (I have a heavy right foot)

How does a road defend itself in court?

Ah, the old SJ410 series, did you like them with the original or the replacement engine mountings fitted after the recall? They used to turn over a lot before they changed them.

Ugh, I feel your pain. Here in Duluth damn near half the streets in the nice section of town have potholes, and every single one out where I live has several in varying sizes. Except, of course, the streets on which city council members live...mysterious, no?

Eh, at least they seem to finally be doing a little bit about it, now that they've block off half the friggin' freeway for the next couple of years for resurfacing (though in fairness, it does kinda need it.)
