Hi all,

I've been pondering this myself for a while but am seeking others opinions on what to do. I've got an A2000 with the following spec:

A2000 1mb OCS
Recapped rev 6.4 & Recapped PSU
PiStorm in CPU slot with nice OS3.2 setup
ZZ9000 for P96 / Scandoubler and Ethernet all working good.

Good: Machine is high res and very fast, apps like Photogenics, Wordsworth, StormC are great.

Bad: Broken Floppy, many games & demos don't run even using WHDLoadWrapper for PiStorm. I really like games so this is disappointing, am running latest 1.0.4 firmware for emu68.

My other machine is a A500+ in a Checkmate case, like so;

A500+ 2mb ECS, in Checkmate case
A500++ rebuilt motherboard, ATX PSU
TF536@50mhz
IDE+LAN for Ethernet
OS3.2 nice setup

Good: All games run great, Settlers, Cannon Fodder, maybe 100 more all good and stable. SCART to TV gets picture and Audio to decent standard.

Bad: Little slow, compared to PiStorm, PAL ECS 16 colours not nice / slow compared to ZZ9000 so apps are no fun.

How can I combine both to get the best of RTG + Pass through + Game compatibility + Apps speed.

I was thinking to move the ZZ9000 into the A500+/Checkmate and get an A500 PiStorm adapter to swap with the TF536.

That would give RTG, but maybe the PiStorm might break games compatibility, then put TF536 and IDE+LAN in A2000 and sell the machine, is a basic A2000 by Amibay standards, so would anyone want it ?

Also how to get Paula audio into the ZZ9000 HDMI? some external audio combiner ?

I was also wondering if TF2040 in A2000 to see if the games would work better, but I doubt it with an 040. And this won't be cheap.

I don't have much experience with WHDLoad, but since no one else has replied yet, I'll give my thoughts. My understanding was that WHDLoad has patches for most games to ensure they work on all "real" 680x0 CPUs, so I don't see why an 040 should be a problem. Do you think the PiStorm or the RTG is the root of the games compatibility problem on your A2000, or something else?

Hi, I would presume that most games won't know RTG/ZZ9000 exists to would not have any effect. PiStorm of course has totally different timing, being an oddly fast 040,.. I could spend the £30 on an PiStorm adapter for the A500+ to prove that, just by using the Pi3 and it's SD card directly.

As both machines are networked WHDLoadWrapper self updates so should be latest, I lurk on the Discord and don't see many others with issues, but most seem to be A1200 users.

Any ideas about the HDMI audio mix of native Paula?,.

If I left the ZZ9000 in the A2000 and used
a RGB2HDMI I could used the new audio board https://github.com/hoglet67/RGBtoHDMI/wiki/Audio

Bu then I've got RTG hdmi from the PiStorm and ECS/Native hdmi separately...
