I've got a flightstick on the way from Phantom - see piccy.

I've got Proflight by Hisoft and may have a few others once I start looking in the storage boxes.

I just wondered what you guys considered to be the best flight sim or at least good flight sim was to give it a try with....

Hi Dave, did you receive the flight joystick yet?

Apart from that, if you like flight simulators likewise Microsoft's Simulator (with normal planes, not fighters) you can try Airbus A320 from Thalion (mentioned this in sales thread).

Although it's a little hard to learn it, as there are quite hunderds of buttons; it's a simulation after all. :)

If you want fighter simulations, then there are a lot of this kind. TFX is a very nice example on a full-expanded Amiga. (y)

No it's not arrived yet.

I just wanted to get prepared ready for when it did (y)

I'll look into the ones you've mentioned.

Thanks, Dave G :cool:

I was skimming a couple of old Amiga mags over the weekend. They were plastered with Airbus A320 adverts! It looks like it was pretty big-budget back in the day! :)

I'd give F/A-18 Interceptor (Domark?) or Tornado (Digital Integration) a spin.

Tornado demands quite a high-spec for a Miggy, although I suspect that you have the hardware to cope with it.

@All

Thanks for those - I remember seeing your thread Juvvie. I'll give it a go.

@Merlin

It's not top notch but I believe it's fairly good. PIV, WarpEngine with 128MB Ram + 16MB on board, external SCSI CD, two physical HDs, CF card on IDE, Kickflash and OS3.9 with BB1, BB2 and BB3.

It has to be the best looking. As for game play I love it, but not got to far into it yet. The patches are on hol at the bottom of the page:

@juvvie

I don't consider that as a hi-jack.

The information gleamed was well worth the small diversion :D

@Jimbo

That's at least two of us that will be trying that out (y)

TFX eventually became EF2000 on the PC and was a very good flight simulator; I have the original and the Tactcom versions for the PC and they are visually amazing!

Oh, and it was Digital Image Design, not Digital Integration. I was close though.....

My all-time favourite is Gunship2000! Months playing and I still get a grip on it.

I have just started playing this again. Turns out the AGA version is not actually AGA. The only difference is the main menu. It only has an AGA check to play the game. In-game is exactly the same. Way to make an extra buck on it.

Loving this again though, had a blast on it last night.

i installed the TFX from CUCD15, downloaded the patch, copied the patch to the game folder, started 040 version, suspend or reboot? tried starting it again with the patch icon, suspend or reboot? tried the stardard version, gets through the menus then gurus mid game, what am I doing wrong?

cheers, JuvUK

P.S sorry for the continuing hijacks Dave

Hmm weird. Here it is running patched: (excuse the mess, I am always messy)

I do remember some issues at first getting this beast to run. I think I bypassed the install and did it manual with assigns. If you want I can zip mine up and email it to you? I run mine with the TFX_FPU icon, don't have a 040 so never tested.

If you want me to zip up my install can you PM your email addy again?

I don't think this is a hijack as it helps to get the flight sims working.

Agreed (y)

It could also save me a load of trouble when I have a go at installing these.

Gunship2000 I've definately got that one (y) I remember seeing the box not long ago.

Gunship2000 is a very good simulation, but I don't know if you can control the helicopter with that joystick. :unsure:
