Hi,

I all, I started my venture into computing with a Schneider (Amstrad) CPC 6128 with color monitor in 1986. Besides gaming I did the usually programming in BASIC, Turbo Pascal and learned a bit of Z80 assembly. After seeing an Amiga at a friends house I got a used Amiga 500 plus monitor at some point and was instantly hooked. With my first 2400 BAUD modem I discovered the Berlin BBS scene. The Amiga 500 was extended with a harddisk and additional memory, but after a holiday job I could eventually afford a used Amiga 3000 (plus 14 inch VGA monitor) which served me for a long time. In 1995 I got my first used PC and became a happy Linux user since then (with DOS/Windows for gaming). I studied computer science and develop software / do DevOps stuff / IT consulting for a living.

I kept my important original machines, so there is still an Amstrad CPC 6128 (in fact several now) plus an Amiga 3000 on my desk. Sadly the Amiga servers mostly as a monitor stand, but I would like to get it into good shape and start out with a Recap kit from AmiBay. Let's see how that goes and how else I can enhance my retro experience. ;-)

It's a shame for that Amiga 3000 to just sit there.

Welcome to Amibay! :check:

Yeah, I know. ;)
It ran a bit unstable last time I used it. So I ordered the recap and PSU recap kit (and a new battery for good measure, changed mine many years ago).

I also have a MiSTer FPGA which is really awesome regarding the software side of things. But I do miss fiddling with the SCSI termination myself.
