I recently got back into collecting retro-computing equipment and I am currently also trying to rebuild my very first PC and other machines I have owned over the years while also just being interested in stuff I never had.
I also want to build kind of a time capsule in my basement with machines from different generations.
I actually never had an Amiga or Commodore computer (apart from an Amiga 2600 for the TV), and started straight with a "PC" in 1989, with a 80386DX20 and coprocessor quite a capable machine for the time actually that my dad got for work but was soon destined to be a gaming computer.
With some luck the original motherboard actually survived since the machine got an upgrade and the motherboard landed on a shelf tucked away somewhere to be found again decades later, recently I acquired some parts from the original configuration to rebuild it but the most difficult one to find is probably the original case which is going to result in a searching hardware thread on here sooner or later

I have since upgraded and built every computer myself, probably the reason why I am more interested in individual PC hardware rather than specific machines from certain vendors, I do appreciate all of them though.
