I'm Rien from the south part of The Netherlands.
48 years old, married and 2 daughters.
Since a few months owner of an Amiga 1200 with aca1221lc card. My first experience with Amiga. And thus far great.
And coworker I worked with 20 years ago was an real amiga fan. He had his own BBS with 2 lines! wowiiii. I remember he had an turbocharged a1200 in a big tower.
During our work time we sneaked out regular to play with the amiga. Fun times.
I remember what he always told me. When you guys where using an green monitor or cga and a pc speaker, we in the amiga camp had already colors and stereo sound.
Always was a bit curious about the amiga. Never bought one. At a point we got children and I never forgot the Amiga but there was no real time for an extra hobby. I already have an sal****er marine tank. That consume's time to.
Now the girl are a bit older I have found some extra time. I played a bit with an emulator on my Mac (fs-uae), but that is just not my thing.
So the time was there to go get an real amiga.
My first idea was the amiga 600. I really love how that looks.
So was looking into this to get one from searching Ebay and other sites.
Meanwhile I joined a dutch forum. So I told my story there.
And the most reactions where that it is much better to get an A1200.
So took their advice and a forum member made an nice a1200 for me.
Now I have an A1200 connected with Rgb -> scart on an lcd tv.
I want the amiga to use for wordprocessing. It type's just amazing! It is fun to type on that thing!
And using it for some excel sheet stuff.
I'm not going to play games on it a lot. Not my thing.
However I played a lot of games on my C16 & C64. Played Track and field, winter / summer games molested joysticks on this game.
And off course Who dares wins I & II. Commando & Rambo also favorites.
My Amiga hobby just started some months ago and I like it much.
Already hooked it up to the network so I can use ftp to grab stuff from my nas. Installed ibrowse for browsing. It is slow, very slow. But it works. Just using the demo version. For now it is fine.
Yesterday I installed telnet client and went to some old school BBS via telnet. FUN FUN!

To expand my Amiga setup and knowledge.
I want an Commodore Inkjet printer added to the set, 1250 / 1270. First I thought to get an matrix printer. On my c16 & C64 I had matrix printers aswell, and made my school work with it. matrix is kinda loud. So I prefer a bit more silent printer. Don't want that when the girls go to bed and I print that the whole house is awake.
Further I want to upgrade my A1200 with an Vampire v1200 coming year. Not ordered yet. I'm in no rush at all.
My computers I got when I was young.
Philips g7000 (videopac), Commodore C16, Commodore C64. Used the C64 for my school work. I remember we bought Easy script as wordprocessing.
Many school works where created with that program.
From the C64 we bought an Tulip compact II (xt) with hercules card (green). My first inkjet printer was an hp deskjet 540c. before that I used Matrix printers. Star NL 10.
