Hello from Australia my fellow Amibayers! I've been into computers since getting my Amiga 500 around 1990 and then progressed to the Amiga 1200HD40 and enjoyed playing many games on both and learning how to use a computer and even did some school too on them!
Around 94 I got my first PC an AMD 386 DX40 with a Soundblaster Pro 2 and a 1x Mitsumi drive (wished I'd hung on to it)and learned the vagaries of DOS (skipped Windows 3.x as it was crap compared to Workbench 3.x), setting up your config to get games to work was like a game in itself!
I've had various PC's over the years but mainly enjoy the games from the late 80's to 90's when they still had some soul unlike many of the games today.
I've kept an interest in retro computers (first joined EAB in the late 90's) and consoles pretty much my entire life but funds (and space!) has limited my collection.
For the C64's I have a breadbox and C64c plus Floppy, Tape drives, Scart and S-Video adapters and my most serious purchase of a Chameleon and it's accessories.
For the Amiga I have the old OCS Amiga 500, Amiga 1200HD and my most recent purchase of an Amiga 600. Have accelerators, Indivisions, RAM expansions etc for them and I'm currently trying to setup some decent Workbench and WHDLoad HD's for them.
Had a big cleanup recently and finally have all my PC stuff in one place so I'm looking to build up an old Super Socket 7 PC in an AT (or hacked ATX) case and I'm currently on a quest for some Soundblaster (and better quality) soundcards and MIDI interface to pair with my Roland synths MT-32(old/new), SC55-MK2 and SC-88.
I'd like to thank Keropi on VOGONS and many other places for helping me to finally join Amibay after instaban problems previously.
Cheers guys and I'm off to read some threads and hunt around for some retro goodness.
Adam.
