*I have one of the A4000 re-made cases in beige/white. So would like a beige/white? front or closest you can have them made in.

Hi,

As this will be a new round, I cannot guarantee that the texture will be similar to your already owned front panel. I expect it to be close, but you might experience some differences pending how the light falls on your items. Please let me know if this is OK with you.

I'm OK with that

I'll share the order during the weekend with the manufacturer for a final quotation. Once that's in, the next step is collecting the funds and payment to the manufacturer.

@andrean
Yes, they fit perfectly on the cases made by Ordyne.
This is the case of my 4000D, built with original Commodore rev. B motherboard, Ordyne's case and PRS' face plate.
It's a beauty! 😍
Ordyne’s case is built superbly and an Original 4000D top cover and front panel fit his case perfectly so are interchangeable - highly recommended.

The PRS cover I have does not allow the lid of the 4K (any lid) to slot into the front panel as the slot around the faceplate is too narrow this means the back of the lid overhangs and the fitment is all wrong.

Your mileage may vary. I will dig out some pics tomorrow.

here is the pictures I promised.

You can make it fit,.... If you mount the front panel with a spacer then the lid will fit but will be 'butted' up to the front panel and not home within the front panels slot (like the original) so it works but not like the original.

I am still using mine, however I have a clear lid on top - otherwise the finishing is awesome, just a shame about fitment - as I say no one else has mentioned this so I guess everyone elses is OK and might just be a me problem :)

I'm not experiencing the same on my A4000.

It is correct that the lid does not fall into the front panel, instead they are touching each other.
But that is also the case with my original plastic front panel.

Here some pictures to illustrate my setup:

Dear all,

I've reviewed a revised design that is floating around on a1k.org. This revised design includes some improvements on the backside of the panel, like the front fitting what @Koolvin here above was mentioning. Also the placement of the magnets have been moved to a different location.

They also have included drive covers, except for "B - 3½ Cover small".
I've 3D printed this design to assess the fitting with my drive covers, and all drive covers including the "B - 3½ Cover small" seems to fit the updated design fine.

I have requested a new quotation based on this new design.

For quotation, include the PDF for threads and inner edges which have to be sharp, i.e. rectangular, like for the LED openings, drive cover openings and inner openings for the LED plugs.

I can confirm that A1K design fits super well, printed and painted it, and it slides over the case. Best design available so far, IMHO. I would be really happy if this one goes into production 😀
