Hi!

I've seen a couple of these Duo systems for Nes/Snes games, I'm looking for the handheld version with TV out option, anyone have something to sell me?

Most on eBay seem to be Import from USA and I don't want to pay the postage and import charges so hoping to find a UK seller...

Let me know if you can help :)

Cheers!

Hi that's exactly what I'm looking for! I didn't know about that site though the only ones I saw were in USA! Thanks scrappy! :)

The NES cartridge adapter looks kind of huge tbh.... You will have a tower construction sticking out if you want to play NES games.

I bought that couple of months ago, tested a few days and resolution was I decided to sell it. It's mostly for NTSC-games. I only have pal-SNES games which sits quit poorly on it. Cartridges waggles quite a lot which also affects the picture to disappear for a while. Super Mario Allstars had more picture-quality problems and it also caused the battery get empty and all the savestates disappeared... There are lot of common games which even won't start (donkey kong countrys, super mario world 2 (Yoshi) etc.). May work better if you have NTSC-cartridges.

Same problems on NES-games. I tested with a quite many USA-version cartridges. Quit often you had to reassemble the cartridge and adqpter to get the game start. Also wiggles, as you can imagine, more with that adapter than SNES games.

For my experience, unfortunately I can't recommend this device...

Thanks for the advice as always, I missed these posts. I went ahead already and treated myself to the RDP.

I'm quite impressed with the device although I haven't tested the TV out yet (I intend to use it on my Projector) I'm quite keen to try my SN Fight stick on it :D

I have a mixed bag of games left over from selling my Snes, some Pal, some NTSC and some Japanese, all the NTSC and JAP games run fine as expected, I knew what to expect from having a Retro Duo before. Some Pal games have issues so maybe I can find NTSC versions of these in the future, or no doubt at some point I'll end up with another Snes lol. The PAL games that dont work so far are the Donkey Kong Country series, Starwing, Stunt Race FX and MarioKart which is playable apart from some screen flashing which is a shame. I should point out that quite a few I tested work perfectly fine, Mario, Unirally, Swiv and Super Ghules & Ghosts.

The controls feel good, it's definitely well made and feels solid. I like the screen too. I know I can play all these games on my Pandora or other devices but there's something special about blowing the dust off a cartridge and plugging it in.

The Nes adapter is a bit brick like but the games are quite light so not a big issue for me anyway.

I guess this thread can be closed or re titled and moved to Amioracle to serve as advice for others :)
