The rules and the wording of them are updated when our members ask for clarification on something or we believe the wording needs changing.

For example the following was added on 09/01/2026 to the proof of ownership section.
This is to be in the form of a photo of the item with a hand written piece of paper showing the following information
Note the proof now being required to be hand written rather that printed which could be faked.

After discussions with a few members we have decided to relax the date on the proof of ownership which can now be the day previous to the thread being posted.
The reason behind this is that a few members were creating drafts and after research and creating the threads the proof on the photographs was showing the previous day.

So today the following change was made to the proof of ownership
3:- the date the item is listed For Sale. Within a maximum of 24hours difference.

All of the stickies have been updated with the previous mentioned changes.

So how do you know if you're upto date with the changes?
The last line of the rules has for some time had a date stamp added to it so you can hopefully see when they've been changed.
Rules Updated 25/01/2026

@davideo

Might be better if the "Rules Updated" line was moved to the top then people don't have to scroll all the way down to read it - it's there staring back at them right from the start.

Done - Now we just need to get people to read them ;)

Hello Mr Davideo

This is Amibay, a very popular retro computer forum.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to make sure that members of the forum not only read the rules, but to also adhere to them.

As always, should you or any other member of Admin or the forum assistants be captured or killed - the community will disavow any knowledge of those rules citing different reasons each and every time.

This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds ...

Good luck!
