I've been to this forum many times, and finally registered.
I'm retired military (will be 44 in may) living in Burkburnett, TX, US and I'm a little bit of a retro-holic. Currently I'm in school for Computer Science, but should shortly be jumping track in to hardware, which is where I wanted to be in the first place. I'm awaiting (pending saving up) to purchase a Amiga 1000, 2000, and 2000 toaster with monitors about an hour away from me here in Texas. I have a Commodore 64 breadbin, 64C, Vic-20, 128 and 128D, including multiple bits and pieces that go with the Commodores. I have an old Leading Edge 80386 machine I'm working on, and an Atari 520STFM mainboard w/ the memory upgrades that I haven't been able to do anything with as of yet.
My first computer experience was typing out magazine programs for my friends so that I could play the games once done, I had an Intellivision growing up, but no computer of my own per-say. My first computer that I owned was a Tandy Color Computer 3 w/512k of ram, multipack, DDDS floppy drives, etc. An IBM of which I don't remember the model but it was an 8086 4mhz with a whopping 10meg HD, an Atari 520STF all at about the same time. The CoCo was my first though, and it was a year later that I got the PC and Atari. Things just went out of control after my first 80286, 80386.... I have besides the retro gear, 3 modern computers for myself (one of which is a laptop). Everyone else in the house has their own computer so they don't have to touch any of mine. The only thing that sucks is having to keep up maintenance on them.
Glad to be here with fellow enthusiasts.
