First of all, sorry for my poor english.

I'm Stefano from northern Italy and i'm 39 years old; i found this site looking for informations about Amiga, because a friend of mine gave me his A1200 which was "sitting" in his garage since 1999, but still working.

Without considering a C64, my first computer was an A1200 in 1994, which i kept for about 4 years and enhanced with Blizzard 1230 Mk-III (030@50Mhz with FPU), larger HD, CD-ROM, tower and so on.
Then i unfortunately sold my A1200 and passed to the "evil" side with a PC and Windows... the only good thing is that i better learned how to add and remove hardware (and defragment HD, re-install drivers, keep antivirus updated...)
Then some years ago i switched to Macintosh... and now here i am with my first "real" computer again in my hands.

I have to regain some years of informations about Amiga, because i used only Workbench 3.1, my knowledge is stopped at year 1994 and much water has passed under the bridges since than...

hola gringo, you are wellcom in AmiBay, i am italian, i am resident in Piacenza and you?

Stefano,

I am glad you found this site:thumbsup: Do not worry a lot of users are not native English speakers, and since this site is about retro computers, it is not the most important to have the best English knowledge.

Lots of Amiga users as well so you found it!

Thanks to all for the welcome !

I started to search an accelerator for this baby, because it has "only" a GVP A1230 turbo+ (no FPU) with only 2Mb and no RTC (quite annoying)

Yes, i could add more RAM, but from what i've read, this board accepts only 64 pin SIMMs from GVP, hard to find and expensive... and the RealTimeClock would be useful for me.

I've never been at Scandiano electronic fair, because it takes about an hour by car from my home... i've been a couple of times at Gonzaga fair (25 min.) which is held 2 times per year, but not during past years, because i try to reduce my environment impact using only my self-made electric bicycle (4.000 Km/year, 10 euro-cents for 60-80 Km and no Co2 ).

Thanks for your advice.
