Hello everybody,

I'm a newcomer currently based in Cork, Ireland. I've been reading posts in this forum for a while and I thought to register as I often buy new items and this place seems like a heaven :)

I own about 20 retro consoles (most of them are Nintendo, Sega, Atari, Commodore and a few clones, most of them presents / second hand bargains), a few desktop / laptop computers (x86 and PPC) and I love tinkering and playing with different OS's since I was 12 or 13, and I am a Linux user although at the moment I'm writing from a Windows 8 netbook. I own 3 telescopes and I do some basic astrophotography whenever the clouds get out of my way.

I've recently got a wonderful :Commodore: Amiga 1200 and I'm chuffed! I'm spending a lot of time doing stuff with it (Just upgraded with a CF card and a Ethernet Adaptor) and I love the amount of great games, software, demos and music files available for this system. The look and feel of "vintage" machines, and the fun provided by their games, cannot be replaced, in my opinion, by any multicore machine equipped with modern OS's and powerful graphic cards

See you all around.
Regards
Risteard

Welcome man !
And yes, the Amiga is a great machine with a lot of great games to feed her !

Commodore clones?

Clones?

Which clones? Never heard about C= clones!
Only the 64DTV and Commodore ONE. Oh, and the Argentinian Drean64

Pictures, please?

Oh, welcome to the site!

:D Clones was not referred to Commodore as such  I have about 5 or 6 clones in general (or maybe more) and I only identified 1 as being a Nintendo Famicon clone, another one is an Atari clone and another one is a Megadrive Clone, not sure about the others, one is a computer-keyboard that accepts cartdriges but it's in Chinese and I cannot understand what the OS is... when I'll go back home I'll take a closer look ...

Cheers!

Hey Risteard, welcome to Amibay! Where in Cork are you? I'm down in Cobh myself.

Edit - Also, thumbs up for the Quickshot Python ;)

Hello & thanks :) I live right in Cork City, not so far!

The Quickshot? Well ... it came "bundled" with this second hand Amiga, I've never been able to play anything properly with it :double
I will get a replacement as soon as I can.

See you around
