Hello, everyone,

I am very passionate about the Commodore world and its machines. I am the lucky owner of a Commodore 64c since 1986 to which I recently added the external floppy 1541II. I recently came into possession of an Amiga 500 with a fantastic set of original software and manuals to which I immediately added a gotek and a df0/df1 selector to be able to use the two peripherals at the same time. I hope to get possession of a Commodore Amiga 1200 as soon as possible, which fascinates me a lot architecturally, but I see that the prices are having a big upsurge lately!

Welcome to :check:AmiBay Michelangelo!

I see you recently entered the wonderful world of Amiga. The 500 is a great machine to own in order to experience the glory days of 16-bit home computing.
There are really few gaming titles that take advantage of the AGA architecture of 32-bit Amigas. Still the 1200 is also an awesome machine for your collection especially if you looking to explore every bit of the vast Amiga library.

And then you get 1200 for reasonable price like I did recently. Maybe even with a 68030 accelerator card for whdload. It even has a nice size - easy to store when not in use which is important if you also into workstations.

And then you look at all that nice screenshots/videos of Workbench with RTG and then you think you'd want that (I'd want to try my hand at coding on 68k, not just classic games after all), but what options do you have if you want to stay pure 68K? Warp1260 with WarpVision? BlizzardPPC + BVision? Wait for ACA1240/1260 to have RTG?

Am I looking at RTX5080 price to get full hd on A1200 workbench? Should I consider A3000/A4000 even though I am already doing interesting tetris-like stuff with my machines to fit them into the small space I have?

Down the rabbit hole.

Welcome to Amibay!
