I'm Malek, 40, Kickstart 1.3 addict. Engine & game programmer
in the so called game industry for 20 years now.
I'm back to Amigas after quite some years now, plugged back my beloved a500 rev 8 for almost a month now.
Enigma/Phenomena and quite a few games had me convincing my dad to buy me an Amiga.
It was around 92/93 iirc ... the a500 with a 1083s was cheaper than the newly a1200 and the love story began.
Started bedroom game & demo effect coding right away in Amos and later in assembly but sadly I never released anything
(haven't had the chance to meet other coders/artists nor had access to BBS or the internet back then).
Maybe this will change now I'm back and motivated.
In the past I owned
- an A1200 with an Apollo 1240/40 iirc (with all the IDE fuss, hd, cdrom blah blah).
- sold to buy an A4000 with a Cyberstorm PPC (040/603e I think). Was an early adopter for the great Delfina sound card, and MorphOS.
Eventually I got sick of all the wars in the community (OSes, hardware...) sold the 4000 and almost everything (save the a500) around 2002.
Now after years of wandering in the pc/consoles/phones programming I'm glad to be back again.
I currently own:
- my trusted a500 rev8 - amram 512ko - HC508 on its way
- a500 rev5 (bought recenlty) - a501 - TF530 - Gotek
- a600 with weird video ghosting - a604
- vanilla a1200 (bought 10 years ago) which I'm planning to extend thanks to this forum :woot:
