I purchased my first A500 in 1993 while I was off work with an injury.
I was totally unaware of what I could do with it or learn back then and after 6 months I returned to work and didn't touch it about 2 years.
By the time I did realise what I could have done expansion hardware was still too expensive for me to purchase.
I picked up an A1200 in 2001 but it was no more than a way for me to play AGA games.
I still couldn't afford an accelerator card definitely not a PPC card so I sold it and stuck with my PC.
Now I do have more disposal funds hardware is either costly or hard to get hold of down under.
I currently have an A500 Rev. 6a. Board in an A500+ case and a 8a in an A500 case on the way.
I'm not really sure what I'll do in the long term. I'm not considering doing any irreversible mods unless I can get another system dirt cheap.
The 8a doesn't have a Super Denise and only 512k onboard so tracking the super Denise and ram chips down is my main priority.
I have purchased a Gotek floppy emulator which I got setup this weekend. I'm now waiting on a TF536 and an IDE68K+Gotta go FastRam.
Next to buy is new Kickstart roms and 2 IDE to CF adapter's.
Future purchases:
RGB2HDMI pi Zero adaptor or other converter/adaptor to allow use of a HDMI monitor
Super Denise. 2 if possible.
1meg expansion for the 500plus.
Boot drive selector.
Lithium battery holder for the 8a and the trapdoor expansion with the 6a.
Another Gotek floppy emulator.
