Hello All,

Software Engineer here, working for 30+ years in "The Enterprise". Getting near the end of my career and looking forward to spending more time on hobbies.

My first computer experience was a Commodore 64 and I always wanted an Amiga. However, college and life overcame the window of opportunity I had to own an Amiga when I was young. I've played around with emulation for years but I'm looking for real hardware now and to spend some time on the system.

Cheers

Welcome!
I'm with you I am looking forward to retiring and spending more time on my hobbies which of course right now includes my Amigas,
My computer history started with a VIC-20 then C64, C128, Amiga 500 and finally a 4000T. Still have all but the C128. Also have an A1000 that someone gave me about 25 years ago.

Welcome to :check:AmiBay!

Although I use emulation all the time (and WinUAE is a fantastic emulator) IMHO nothing compares with the use of the actual machine! It just hits my nostalgia hard! :)

Welcome from Michigan.
The good news these days is you can build a brand new 500 or 1200 or 2000 or 3000 or 4000 these days with tons of upgrade options. It is not an inexpensive hobby, and if you get an original system make sure the Varta battery has been replaced, and damage identified and repaired, and recapped.
