Hello everyone,
I started with computers when i was a kid, first one to touch was probably PMD-85 playing Manic Miner(8080 clone), then friends Atari 800XE playing Moon Patrol and International Karate.
Then another friend had Atari ST just remember some game with robot with circle shape running around some old factory/base(let me know if someone recognizes it please, it was lot of fun).
First one which i could access more often, was at my dad's work. It was the mighty PP-06, IBM PC/XT clone made in Slovakia. It was already obsolete when it came out but it will always have special place in my heart. You had to wait for it to warm up to be able to boot from ST-255 20MB hdd. I learned all the basic stuff on it. Also played Alley Cat, Space Invaders, J-Bird, Arkanoid, Sopwith, Lode Runner, Defender of the Crown, Karateka even Larry 1.
Then came all the newer/better 286, 386SX at my parent's work and Prince of Persia, Civilization, Pushover, Loom and many others. My first computer was 486DX4 many years later remember Dune 2 was probably what left most impact, golden era of gaming.
Now i am trying to pass some of the feel for old computers on my children, playing Boulder Dash on PP-06(20kg of metal and love), International Karate on C64.
Also have Amiga 1200 and freshly Atari 800XE in the pipeline.
wow this got long! anyway thanx for this reminiscence;-)
Have fun Everyone!
