I'm a software engineer & I started with programming in the 90's when I was around 12 years old and I became the owner of an original IBM 286 AT.
Since then my passion for (now retro) computers only grew up
The following stuff does have a special place into my heart:
- 286 IBM XT, AT & PS2
- 486 DX2 66 because I learned a lot about computers using that
- Zenith Data Systems green tree logo
- AMD K6-x because my friend had it
- Slot A Duron/Athlon AMD's & S3 Savage 4 - because i owned them when the 3D games revolution started
- GeForce 5 because it replaced my old Savage 4 and I was finally being able to compile & run all NeHe OpenGL examples
- ATI Sapphire graphic cards for their colorful prints on the cooler
...and maybe the Z77 chipset + Xeon because I'm still using it as a quad boot WinXP, Win7, Win10, Linux machine.
