Hi all!
I’m Ian, generally using the nickname ‘idc’ (those are my initials, btw!).
Amiga user since the early 90s; my cousin received an A500+ one Christmas, I liked it so much I asked my parents for an Amiga the following Christmas, and they got me an A1200. I later upgraded it with an Apollo 1230 (I was still a kid, Blizzard cards were too expensive)!
I used to hang around on numerous Amiga IRC channels back in the day, either under the nick IanC or idc. I moved into the Xbox scene in the early 2000s, hanging out with the guys from Team Avalaunch.
Around the same time, I began collecting arcade PCBs, with a particular interest in CPS2 games. In 2016, I was part of the team that successfully reverse engineered the encryption key loading routine in CPS2 games, allowing them to be revived if the keys had being erased due to the dreaded ‘suicide battery’!
A few weeks back, I decided to pick up a 68060 rev. 6 and a TF1260 card - the first piece of Amiga hardware I’ve purchased in over 20 years!
