Hello fellow Amiga and other Retro Computing fans!

A short few words about me, Jakob. I'm a computer engineer soon working with graphics and VR on Linux. And as you can see from the title I'm soon moving to Cambridge to start said work. I have only been a fan of weird and wonderful computers. Working on OpenGL drivers I have always wanted to own a SGI computer.

The Amiga 2000 I have is a hand me down from my older brother, I'm not sure when i came into my possession. But I still cherish it a lot since I fond memorires of playing games and exploring workbench on it. It is pretty much bog standard Rev 6.2 Amiga 2000 with a 1084S screen. A extra disk drive is all the expansions in it, tho one broken is broken. I have removed the battery, but not before it leaked a bit, luckily nothing damaged except some slight miss-coloring on the board. I have also had to replaced one of the DB9 ports as it had become loose after we kids got a hold on it. When I replaced it I noticed that only one DB9 was fastened with screws.

I'm bit on the fence on what I want to do with it, part of me just want to cram as many accelerators and crazy expansions board into it. Another part wants to keep it as close as to what it was when I was young. Maybe only some sort of HDD and scan dubber. The inventor in me wants to do a FPGA based CPU expansion card for it.

Well that was a lot more about the Amiga then me, hope you guys have a good weekend, cheers!
