Greetings from canton Aargau in Switzerland!

I know AmiBay for quite a while but just I decided to create an account to try to buy some (PCB?) membrane for my new-old Amiga A500.

I never owned Amiga before, just Atari 130XL long time ago and 800XL now with rather rare great mechanical keyboard, C64 donated from my family and MiSTer FPGA assembled long time ago before it was even popular. I wanted to add Amiga to my collection. I bought one for in an unclear condition with lot of extras from UK eBay seller for good price <snip> pounds + shipping to Switzerland.

A500 arrived this week and almost everything was working. Original super-heavy power supply brick was giving perfect voltages. Upon first I could get any floppy running, but I managed to resurrect the drive cleaning dust and heads with IPA and adding new grease to the head's motor shaft. Mainboard shielding was pretty rusty, which was bummer. But I got rid of the rust with WD40 and IPA.

Finally as there was noticeable dust around keyboard, one key cap was broken and Caps Lock was stuck (liquid?) but Led was fine, I decided to look inside the keyboard to see how it looks. I found some small (sticky?) stains and without thinking I grabbed some clean cloth and some IPA and started cleaning gently. Immediately realized it is very bad idea to use IPA at all as I saw green residue on my white cloth from mask paint and some black stuff which was most likely me tearing out carbon pads.

New lesson learned... not everything that's looks like PCB can be cleaned with IPA. :picard:

So LShift, LAlt, LAmiga and Num 0 keys are not working (due to my own actions?). Now I am trying to source some replacement to be able to use Ctrl+LAmi+RAmi.

While A500 build looks generally impressive, that membranes from the era using carbon paint are really horrible idea.

Cheers,
-- Adam
