Hello all

I've been browsing as a guest for a while and finally thought I should register. I've always been interested in computers. My first (and most enduring) love has always been the various Acorn machines - Electron, Beeb, RISC PC and so on. After a number of years of Acorn, I defected to the Atari ST for a few years in the late-1980s, before returning to Acorn in 1992. This lasted until 1999 or so when Acorn shut down, after which I owned various PCs. Nowadays, I'm a Mac man.

I kept the various Electrons I shared with my brothers when I was younger, and the Acorn A3010 and RISC PC I had later. Unfortunately I broke the Beeb (!) and sold the Atari.

In recent years, I've been rebuilding my collection - adding a Beeb, a Master 128 and an Atari STE. My most recent addition has been an Amiga 1200, in the last few weeks.

My initial impressions of the Amiga are conflicted. It's very impressive from a technical point of view, and it's a nice looking thing. It is a bit daunting for a beginner to the system; I'd not used one before mine arrived from the seller so every time I use it is an adventure. Currently its sole addition is a Transcend DOM for a hard drive; I plan on adding PCMCIA and an accelerator card (with RTC) later on.

Cheers
S
