Hi! I grew up with a father who owned multiple Amigas. He eventually bought one for myself and my sister when we went to college.

My favorite memories are:
  • playing Moria. In fact, Moria kinda ruined me for games because I had a character running for a very long time. When you died in that game, you died. No backup. Hit a Balrog, and [snap] just like that, I was gone. Just couldn't bear to invest that much into a game from that point on.
  • making music with Bars & Pipes. Though I once created a sequence to use for a live performance, and once I got to the gig, my computer crashed while on stage waiting for it to start. We wound up not playing the song, and quite embarrassed.
  • increasing the font size for college papers. BORING, right? Not in the late 80's early 90s. Profs hadn't figured this out yet, so I could turn a 2 page paper into the required 3 pager with just tiny mods in font size and line distance.
  • I researched and received feedback for a paper by submitting questions to a local BBS.
I've inherited many magazines, manuals, and hardware that I intend to post for sale soon. I look forward to getting to know the community here.

Welcome aboard. Nice of you to share your Ami-memories with us!

Welcome to Amibay!

Welcome! What kind of Amigas did you use growing up?

Amiga 1000 was the first Commodore computer in the house. Prior to that it was a TRS-80. Actually, an LNW-80... a home-made Trash-80.

My personal computer was an Amiga 500.

He eventually upgraded to an Amiga 2000.

Welcome, I am in Tacoma myself.
