Hello fellow Amigans.
I thought I would make the effort to say hello, after being silent for 8 years on this forum. I feel more than ever returning to many things Amiga is like a calling for me and wish to be able to participate in this site.
I live in the UK (NI) and grew up using an Amiga 600 from the age I was about 5 or 6, alongside my father and my older brother. I have many times, over the past decade or two, returned to playing Amiga games and recently have done so again bringing my A1200 and CD32 out of storage trying to get my little ones interested in them (although they are still too young to properly interact with games yet).
I'm currently debating purchasing a Checkmate case for my 1200 setup as I like the big box style case (an actual big box Amiga just seems like too much of an investment for me currently, although I can dream of owning an A3000 one day) and a TF expansion for the CD32. I'm also in the process of troubleshooting our original A600, which having sat for many decades unused, has suffered the fate of leaky caps. I have replaced these caps recently, however the machine still seems like a long way from working (showing a Green screen in boot, seemingly suffering from a chip ram issue of sorts).
It's such a great feeling to see an Amiga community which is bursting with life, well done to everyone involved.
