My retro computer thing is mostly 1980s 8-bit Acorn stuff, which I've been a fan of since I was a boy in the late 80s/early 90s, but I recently got given some 16-bit items: an STe (but that's not why I'm here), and an Amiga. The STe has had its minimal required upgrades, and now it's the Amiga's turn!

It's an Amiga 500, but with an A500+ PCB and ECS. 512 KB chip RAM on the PCB and 512 KB other RAM in the trapdoor.

First impressions: the RF dongle is annoyingly large, and the output isn't great. So I thought I'd sign up here to register interest in a buffered and filtered VGA adapter. (I've got some 15 KHz-compatible VGA displays.) Quite looking forward to seeing what the 640x512 display mode looks like as well... 640x400 STe mono looks great on a modern LCD.

Adding 512 KB chip RAM looks like an easy soldering job, so I'll get that done at some point. Maybe reinstate the RTC battery while I'm there.
