I've had this for years but want to know what system this belongs to.
maybe it's just an old generic 3-button XT/Amstrad/Mac/C64 mouse?

I'm sure I have tried it on PC and Acorn's with no joy. does anybody recognise it?

Thanks in advance!

I don't recognise this so it's stupid question time. Have you had a chance to try it on an Atari ST?

No Joy with Atari ST either, looking at the date of the chips in the connector (83/84) suggests a much earlier machine, there was a piece of Drawing software (AMX) available for the Acorn BBC Micro around 1984 that came with a mouse. looking at old YouTube videos I'm sure this mouse looks familiar. but they used 15-pin analogue ports, so unless there was an adapter that came with it? I'm still convinced it's an old XT PC serial mouse, or an Apricot machine as they had a 9-pin serial port, the hunt continues...
