Hi.
I got this hardware for Apple //e which looks like a SIRIUS JOYPORT like and the serial leads to another hardware on the internet.
There is no manufacture whatsoever written on it.
If anyone could help me identified where and when it was produced etc..

Thanks .

Alex

It looks like some sort of a ROM switcher, to allow different sockets to be selected.

If I recall correctly, the Apple II used to use software on ROM, a bit like the BBC Micro. 16-pin sockets would certainly fit the bill for 8-bit ROMs or EPROMs.

What does the other end of the cable look like? It could be a serial EPROM programmer if it's a 9 or 25 pin serial port plug.

It's a joystick switcher for older Apple IIs (so you can use multiple joysticks without having to open the Apple all the time...)

but he wants to know the make of it, etc

Doing a little search I found the companion joystick for this switcher.

The other end is a 16-pin port which feets in the Gamepad port of the Apple //e.
Yes the serial on the hardware leads to the above picture which is a different hardware.
I think it is a gamepad switcher no doubts as a sirius but is it like Sirius or not ?
Difficult to get infos on the internet even for the Sirius ? Any pictures ?
Our guesses lead to a 3rd party maker, simple hack done by somebody perhaps since there is no date or manufactured mark on it...

Love your helps though...
