Back in the good old days, my cousin used to have this game console, which I think was either a Colecovision or an Intellivision. The controllers had a numeric keypad and a round direction plate. He had this game which was pretty cool. I just can't remember the name and haven't found any screen caps that would ring any bell at least on the Intellivision.

It is a single screen, depicting a bay, if I remember correctly. At least there was some land and sea. I think you commanded this cannon battery, which you used to destroy the enemy. The enemy would do some drop-offs from passing plane but I can't remember any other activities pof the enemy. The gameplay wasn't very intense so you could play quite long before a game over.

Does this ring any bells to anyone? A screencap would be nice, if come up with possible game.

Thanks in advance!

That sounds like the CBS Colecovision to me, mate.....

The Intellivision had gold coloured direction Disc's, do you remember the colours of the hardware? Was there a start-up screen when switching it on before gameplay?

@ Tokyo

I added a picture of the Intellivision for you; I never realised that they were so similar in the design of the controllers....

Thinking about it, the game sounds a lot like Beach Head, that was released for the C64, but without the troop drop offs. The bay and cannons desciption is very similar to Beach Head.

@Merlin: I remember Beach Head on C64 but I don't think that was it. The gameplay on Beach Head was simpler.

Looking at the pictures, I'd say it was the Intellivision that my cousin had.

I did some digging in the web and came to a conclusion that the game I had played back in the good ol' times was Atlantis from Imagic released for the Intellivision. Here's one picture:

Spent hours playing that game. Should probably give it a try on some emulator.

For some reason, it looked much cooler back then... :p
