You need a PC with an onboard floppy controller i.e. one that plugs directly into the PC's motherboard. USB floppy drives don't work; so don't waste your time buying one. I thought I was on a winner because my main PC has a floppy controller! But unfortunately I couldn't get Win-7 to write even a PC floppy; so used an old XP PC instead.

Writing Atari software on a PC floppy is pretty simple task, there's an Atari programme specific for the job (sorry the name escapes me just now).
