Hey guys,
Anyone ever got a Ragnarok up and running and know what needs to be done with the ram window size?
I found that with the windowsize jumper open and set to 256mb on the mediator, all my cards would show when I run C
CIInfo. I could see the Motorola PCI carrier board for the ragnarok too.
However when I would try initialise the sonnet drivers, I would get an error about the window size, as the Ragnarok is 512mb and the window size is 256mb with the jumper open.
I would close the jumper, which should set it to 512mb window size then, but then found none of my cards were seen by the mediator.
I have broken down the tower setup and sold the tower mediator but have a new internal one on the way for my 4000D. It would be nice to know where I was going wrong!
I did read that there is meant to be a specific card order when using a Ragnarok and that it should always be second card down below the GPU, which I didn't have, so that is going to be my first thing to try when the mediator arrives. I have a Radeon I want to use with it and I know I will not be using all it's ram, probably only 13-16mb of it, but at least the Ragnarok ram will be faster. I only got the Radeon as it was cheap and they run cooler than the voodoo3.
I just don't understand how would I even use the GPU if 512mb is the ram window size of the mediator and the ragnaork is 512mb. Is there a way to select how much ram I want the sonnet drivers to use of the Ragnarok?
