Absolutely, In google type "android java" followed by some keywords describing your problem. The website Stackoverflow is the one to look out for. Its brilliant.

If you haven't already, follow the quick tutorial that eclipse presents you with upon first opening.

in the sdk downloader thingy, there are some samples you can download which are very good.

Have lots of fun, and if you get really really stuck then feel free to ask me any questions.

Would you better off learning C# than Java?

I'd be inclined to agree, but only because with C# you get .Net.

Its no use for Android programming, but you could code the next Microsoft office (and make it good)

Thanks again guys just doing the the demos now they are fun to play with so looking forward to the next stage.

so you using Java to code Demo and what kind of Demo you doing?
Which Java Version you using as there is JavaFX if you havnt heard of them:)

I never really went for the reading part to learn anything ive always been a trial and error sort of person. you can download xampp which will run on your pc and has a built in MYSQL and PHPMYADMIN its apache driven and you can use it offline so this means you don't have to have a webserver or domain name... from here you can practice your coding to your hearts content without worrying... you will also need a decent code editor I use notepad++ xampp will run anything php, html, javascript anything at all...
