Hello! Long story short I've been following chiptune for ages but only recently discovered demoscene... alongside a revitalized interest in music creation and a hobbyist tech outlet..All-in-All leading me to a deep dive on these two devices & learning what I'd need to incorporate into my setup.

Would like assistance determining what will be compatible...as you can expect the Monitor is the crux of it all. Ideally I want a CRT that can cover all my vintage needs, however the A1200 naturally threw a wrench in that. No interest in running either of these on a flat screen or emulation, so my apologies for needing to tackle all of this in potentially the most difficult of ways. Luckily nothing on this side of the equation has been purchased yet & have other toys to interest self for interim, so at least can get a solid equipment wish list going without need to compensate anything already-purchased.

Usage: Music (Playing demos, playing & recording via MIDI keyboard (recording externally via interface). Separating audio out for recording is highly preferred vs. playing through TV audio. Games are secondary

Monitor compatibility to other vintage consoles (most on composite) would be a plus but not necessary

CRT would be interchangeable between the C64 & A1200, desktop area currently used as modular synth area which a CRT would need to eat up significant space on (with the A1200 underneath it likely). The 8-12" range seemed ideal. I've a separate larger CRT in gaming area; not looking for another large TV & this one's use-case is more akin to a desktop PC for music production than couch gaming.

Few TV options I found had SCART inputs (eBay, not looking to spend > $4-500 on just the display). However consensus I found was that I should be using a Monitor vs. a TV for Amiga desktop use (workbench) which makes sense.

So...a 15khz capable monitor & I'd want to be connecting the A1200 to that via SCART (audio out from A1200 via audio jacks) ?. C64 would be S-Video out to...depending on monitor port options, use adapter for s-video/composite to SCART/VGA? LumaFix64 strongly recommended for picture quality so on my list already. Then any considerations for PAL or etc. depending on what/where I get equipment... Do I have all that right or is there some glaring compatibility issue & I just need to accept fate of one display per (if I'm being a stickler on requiring my vintage graphics to be behind authentic scanlines & lovely CRT glow :p)

edit: After more research...the Commodore monitor line seems up my alley. About as native as I can be for the Commodores, supports other equipment via composite, desktop profile. This list gives me a few ideal models (1402, 1902, 1942, 1940, 1960) that I'd just need adapters depending on the monitor (DB9 to DB23F, DB9 to composite, HD-15 to DB23F, VGA to composite).
