Nothing fussy about asking for extra packaging 
I like my stuff to go in it's original foam inserts in it's original packaging - then I package that with industrial bubble-wrap sheets and another box, then often brown paper that and also stick it down with large swathes of clear ultra-sticky packing tape. The damn things often come out the other end pretty much waterproof and bouncy
Took some input from Fitzsteve early one - package well, package often - it's the only way ;-)
Still - hopefully that's enough to ensure things still arrive in some kind of order, although it might mean the buyer has an extra 15 minutes of faff trying to extracate the purchase
(you should see the size of the box I've put to one side to package the A4000 box in, should it ever go - plus bubblewrap and packing peanuts and...and...
)
