Owned a C16 and a Plus/4 as a kid, loved them but unfortunately they both died. Recently decided to look at getting the Plus/4 to work. Realised that the blank screen was due to the Function3+1 rom chips and the PLA were all broken.
Finally got the PLA out of the C16 and into the plus/4 left the 3+1chips (U25 and U26) out and the machine has burst back into life. Very happy to see the ole girl working again.

I had a plus 4 as a kid, but spent more time playing on my mates C64 and then amiga.
For nostalgic reasons I picked up a plus 4 a few years ago and it all works except the 3+1 bit. Its as if those chips are not installed (but they are). I guess they need replaced, but have never got round to it. Due to lack of room its boxed up and put away for some point in the future, and I spend more time with my amigas (and have a C64 setup as well).
I ended up getting SD card drive for the plus 4 (and have one for the C64) so am not reliant on tapes anymore. I do love it when the original kit is brought back to life and you get that nostalgic feeling !
