Hi,

My name is Kevin. I'm an electronics engineer based in the NW of the UK.

I have created a range of retro hardware products, some of which are totally unique.

One good example is the Cyclone VX adapter, which allows you to control your Amiga with a Playstation Dualshock gamepad. Not only does this give you autofire, rapidfire, secondary fire button, diagnostic mode, but also GAMEPAD VIBRATION!

I normally sell my products from eBay and eBid, but I also want to sell them via this site.

Nice to meet you guys!

Welcome on board, you seem to be the type of chap that might now about this. I've always wanted to link up a PS2 controller to my old PSP Phat. Now, I read a link:

http://www.acidmods.com/forum/index...ID=976d94b06905ad8a6373968ffa10fe6b#msg133741

That had the code for the mod but not much else, could you take a peek at this and see what you think? From what I can decipher it seems to be a no hardware mod needed option as soldering onto the PSP is a major pain.

Cheers

Hi, yes this is very similar to how my Cyclone VX adapter works except I use a PIC16F628A. Connecting to a PSP is more problematic than an Amiga because whether or not you use an MCU you still have to open up the PSP and provide breakout connections.

The post also mentions you could use a wireless gamepad with the MCU based solution but this would be extremely problematic given the nature of the PSX bi-directional protocol which has very strict timing constraints.

Good luck!

Make a cased adapter so we can use Super Nintendo pads as CD32 pad replacements and I'd buy a few immediately

This is a nice gizmo, and the use of sound outputs for the rumble is a good idea. I'll probably get you a few soon.

Can I ask, does option 1 of the the Cyclone-VX-Playstation-gamepad-adapter have the up Dpad mapped to the lower button like the controller does? If so Im defo getting one.

The listing kind of infers that this feature is only available with the option 2 kit firmware update.

You already know the answer to this as you just bought one - thanks for that. For anyone else interested in this question, I was trying to sell off some boards that had chips with the V1.0 firmware, but as manic23 will tell you I can be flexible..:)

Yer, thanks Kevmeister, I posted that before I contacted you.
