Speccy? HISS BOO! :censored:

Rofl, sorry mate just kidding, I love the Speccy, it was my first machine ever as a kid,

Welcome to Amibay. Hope we can help :)

Welcome to Amibay. I'm mainly Amiga but as you can see from my signature - I'm also still into Sinclair. The ZX81 was my first machine then the Spectrum, then I switched sides and got the awesome C64 when it was at it's peak, then moved onto Amiga :)

Ooooooooo....

I've just acquired a couple of Spectrums, I could be picking your collective brains over the next few weeks..... it's been a very long time since I had a Spectrum.

My original one was a 16k version that eventually got upgraded to 48k. It was nicknamed "Brain Damage" and had it's name in black Dymo tape on the front. It was called that because it had a poxy Kempston joystick interface that moved whenever I walked across the carper and it crashed the Speccy, hence Brain Damage.

I don't know why, but I got the urge to get all masochistic again and get hold of a Spectrum to try all over again.

Hiyas Bry

Welcome to the the 'Bay =)

looking forward to reading about your project.

=)

@ plaster

I suggest that you take a look over at the World of Spectrum site. They have a few links to emulators and games and it shouldn't be too difficult to get this up and running.

The hard part is going to be deciding what operating system the laptop will have - DOS, Linux or a Windows platform.

Let's have some ideas from you once you have had a read at WOS.

Cool idea though. ;)

Welcome aboard plaster :pint:

I'd like to hear more about your project too. Give it a go on a dedicated thread, and we'll see how much we can all help you on this! A Speccy with an LCD screen say around 7"-10" and a LiPoly battery pack would be awesome!
