how can i test A1200 sound output?

i have an A1200 which i'm told doesn't have sound

how can i test the sound on this machine as i don't have any games?

Any application that produces sound, like a mod player and some mods

Or a Scene Demo like 'State of the Art'

You can use Advanced Amiga Analyzer .
this program test the channels separately .

The sound prefs in Workbench have a button that you can use to produce a test beep with. Not sure over which channels it plays, though, but it's something.

Or from CLI: say Amiga #1.

Be careful, if the a1200 is booting but produce no sound it's perhaps dead caps... (the sounds caps are the first to die) it can be dangerous for Paula (an a1200 doesn't boot with a dead paula).
