Hi chaps

I recently bought a DS2 card have a few emulators for it. This was great for my son as I didnt have to constantly change games.

I recently started downloading demos from the Nintendo store and it seems the firmware has been updated on my 3ds which completely prevents me using my DSTWO card.

The card is not blocked as it works fine in my nephews DS which has has never used on the internet.

Can someone help with how to put my 3DS back to factory settings.

Restoring the default settings on the 3ds won't downgrade the firmware which as far as i'm aware is impossible at the moment.
However the Supercard DSTwo cards were pretty quick with the updates when i had one.

I am assuming the 3ds now has the latest 4.5.0-10 firmware installed? You can check by going into settings and it should list the firmware.

Supercard has released an update here

Download it, follow the instructions and it should update your DSTwo to work with your current firmware. You will need an older DS that the card will work on such as the DS/DS Lite to perform the upgrade.

Hope that helps :)

Hi scrappy thanks for your reply. I will try this and let you know how I get on. I will check settings now.

By the way, its the card you sold me (which Im really pleased with).

I cant find out what version it is. I assume its the latest one.

The dstwo works in my nephews DS.

If I do the upgrade would it remove any of the ROMS? can i just back up by sd card by copying and pasting the memory card and then copying it back?

Hi again limboy, if you just copy the update file to the micro sd then when you turn on the system it should fine the update and prompt you to update it. It shouldn't affect anything on the sd card but if you want to be sure just copy all files from the micro sd (make sure to check for hidden files too) to a folder on your computer and then proceed with the update.

Regarding the system version, it really shouldn't matter to be honest as the update to the DSTwo card works with the latest 3ds firmware so even if you were on a lower version it should still work with your console and in the future if you do update to the latest (as of now) it should still work. Obviously if Nintendo release a new firmware then you would need to stick with the current working firmware on your 3ds and wait till Supercard release an update again. They were usually pretty quick (within 2-3 weeks) when i had the card.

Thanks for your quick reply again.

I have a spare SD card which I want to use as a back up, Would I copy the file on the blank sd card and then it will install the whole dstwo software when I put it into a DS.

Assumming I need the whole software package (can you send me the link to this as well as the site isnt the easiest to navigate).

Sorry to be a pain:Doh:

Hey scrappysphinx, thanks for your info there, I was able to update my wifes DSTwo and now it works in her 3DS XL I got her for Xmas, she's a happy bunny :)

@Limboy,

Download: this and this

Extract the contents of both in the root of your MicroSD and the updter will be presented when you first turn on the DS

Glad i could help Steve.

@Limboy, as Steve Said if you download both the card update and the EOS (system files) from the links he's provided and extract both to your spare micro sd you can then put that in the dstwo and start the dstwo in your nephews ds and it will update the card so you can then put your original micro sd back in and use the card on your 3ds.

Thanks chaps for your help. I wont be able to try till Monday night at the earliest due to having an work related exam on Monday. Thanks for your help:thumbsup:
