Heya theeere. Im someone who is generally really unfamiliar with forums, apologies in advance for any innocent faux pas i may commit (got the rules in mind for sure though). But, hoping to make use of what i can here
Anywho, as for a proper introduction. Yello! Im someone who just seems to have a general interest in Various Old Things. From calculators n tech, to cars, and even cassettes. Got an aviation interest on the backburner too. Old computer parts (and especially video cards. Bonus points for GF2 Tis) are my main interest though. Kicked off simply by some childhood pc games not working on my modern system anymore, some years ago. One lucky auction for an IBM desktop (that required a ground-up rebuild) later, and i got hooked
Im not so much a technically minded person though (even if i desperately need to learn some, if i wanna start repairing my stuff). Im more into..... the looks, the meaning/history, the interesting little quirks. I particularly enjoy gathering up similar but different things. Like little specific revisions or editions, and models with benign changes. Metaphorical siblings/cousins essentially. Im partial to janky cards usually, broken or otherwise. Just being able to hold such a cool little thing in the first place is more valuable to me than any kind of mint condition, and it certainly makes the hobby more accessible. Win-win
