Guys I was able to win this on eBay today.. By sniping the Auction (with 4 secs to go) What I'll do to it is remove the FPU, and the socket too, and solder in a 68 pin PGA one, and fit a Ceramic 50MHz FPU.. Also in goes 68030RC 50MHz CPU...

Yee!! Haa!!..

Is that for A500? Will it still allow you to use an A570 on the side? Or is it Zorro2 incompatible?

I do know that in a 2000 it's Zorro II compatible... But better to get the 2000 relocater card. That way you plug it into the 2000's Accelerator slot (don't to plug it into the CPU socket)..

Oh, it's for both the 500, and the 2000.. For me it's going into a 500 Plus and I'll see if a memory expansion will work with it (I have a small 8MB card that plugs into the CPU socket)..

A great accelerator from Matze!! Very fast, has 4 MB RAM and a fast IDE controller...

Just so you know, the PLCC-68 socket pinout is different to the PGA-68 socket pinout (dumb I know - physically different layout). So you won't be able to replace the FPU with an RC type unless you make an adaptor board (I've been looking into doing this for my TF530).

Yep Just found out since it has arrived.. Shame bout that, so a just a tiny criticism about Matze board:(.. He should have designed the board for a through-hole socket... That way you could fit a PGA-68 socket for a 50MHz Ceramic FPU. Other than that it's still a great board for my 500+ (I'm happy), and I hope that MKL's little 8MB ram board (Which I have) will work with it, as that will give me a total of 12MB ram...

Yes, this board is designed by Matze from a1k.org.
This the best 030 Accelerator board for the A500. Can be also used into an A2000 directly connected to the 68000 socket or onto the CPU slot with a special pcb which also provide an IDE port.
As said BlinGerMan, a very fast (the fastest?) Accelerator board, with an excellent IDE device onto the memory expansion.

Sorry bud, but it seems you have no clue what You taking about... Matze done a clever decision, he chosen PLCC for a good reasons:
1. PLCC FPUs are like sand on the beach, while PGA are hard to get.
2 because of selling Price
3. Even cheapass 68882 PLCC fakes works nice and stable @ 60Mhz - have done these tests and can assure it, while 50Mhz PGA are mostly rebranded fakes and doesn't work @50Mhz quite often..
So yeah..

Can we keep the prices out of this discussion I've had to moderate this thread twice.

thanks

Sorry bud.. But I do know what I'm talking about. Though I did say that's it's still a great board (It might end up in my 2000 which has a 8MB card installed), and as for some 50Mhz PGA FPU (Like the CPU's too).. Some are rebranded fakes. You are right about that. However, I do have a real branded MC 50MHz FPU here....But at least I can fit a full MC68030RC 50MHz CPU (It's not a fake one) cos the correct socket for it is on the board (Has all the pins)....

Oh, (Just wondering) will the board run (nice and stable) at 55Mhz by simply changing the oscillator, and by the way is the 68882 PLCC fitted a fake or a real one HEH.... No pun intended...

By the way the board that I bought has a yellow jumper wire from pin 1 on the CPU riser adapter (Boards header) to pin 1 on the board itself (Maybe connection not good??)...

Upps...Sorry, prices i mentioned was for spares, not hardware, so i was sure i don't brake rules..

depends on CPU and Firmware installed. Seems to me it is one of my early builds. You'll probably need to update FW to make it hapen

and by the way is the 68882 PLCC fitted a fake or a real one HEH.... No pun intended...
this doesn't really matter if it works. Even more.... FPU IS USELESS!

seems to me this pin is broken, You can replace it, and remove that wire

OK I had a feeling in me bones that the header pin might be broken.... Nice build I must say, and your right Victor. One pin was broken, so i fixed that in a jiffy (Jumper wire now gone)...

Oh, where do I get the latest firmware from....

ARRGG Bloody board don't work. You see I removed the yellow wire, and replaced the broken pin (Pads didn't get lifted off). Then I tested the connection with my multi-meter and got a 000 reading (which is fine).. However on power-up all I get is flashing back and fourth Black to Yellow screen .. If it can't be fixed in the trash bin it'll go....

I even removed the riser adapter, and plugged the board into CPU socket (to see if it was the adapter). But still a Yellow screen, so the problem is the 68030Tk board...

EDIT: After lifting the ram board a bit and pushing it down too.. The Kickstart screen came on for a second but then back to yellow or light black (Color varies), so It's a connection problem... (No kickstart screen even with ram board not connected)

No chucking Amiga Tech in the bin you  if you cant fix it someone else out there might be able too :D

hope you get it working though Fingers Crossed

Well to I did get as kickstart screen for a sec.. Don't you think that it's somehow the connection to the Amiga mobo is the problem and the TK board might be OK..

Guy's should any one the pins be shorted on the lattice chip (CPU board). Because I see 2 legs that are shorted...

Yes, they should on each side except right side
