Hi, I just stumbled across this thread (and indeed the site!).
I've designed, with the help of vintage-computer.com members, an 8-bit ISA board enabling CompactFlash drives to be used with PC/XT and other 8-bit ISA based PCs. The design is bootable thanks to the sterling efforts of the XTIDE Universal BIOS team.
I've PCBs available right now via my blog, for anyone interested, which can be found via any popular search engine using the term "lo-tech ISA CompactFlash Board".
Cheers!
