I bought another A500 basically, out of the blue....without even knowing if its working or not, guy who was selling didn't even
know what cables are for, it came with monitor cable, audio cable, mouse, no instructions (I have plenty at home)
and missing power supply, thats why I need another Psu to complete the system.

A500 came in, Box is in amazing shape, Foam, original wrap!! as usual ! nothing new maybe for some of you
but I'm super happy! any Amiga I inspect very carefully like i just bought it from the store when there were new,
and smiling like a fat kid loves cake and do unpacking :-) Sooooooo,

I probably went through about 20+30 amiga's 500's in m life time, This one has original seal and never taken apart, both seals are there!
When i saw that i was like yes!!!! yes! This one is a keeper and to my collection

few images, why not...... I saw some guy selling brand new amiga a1200 on ebay for *-* bucks, But i cant spit that much money out....

It's really a great feeling when unpacking an Amiga! I still have my A500, A1200 and A1000 packed up in their original boxes. In a way, I almost feel somehow different when I unpack my A500. But the best feeling comes when unpacking the A1000 and especially when removing the upper case and look underneath.

very original packing , is that the standard US packing ? quite different from the UK plain white or bundled packages..

mike :-)

Happy for you. Is this ntsc ?
I have 2 brand new a500s also, and the unpacking feeling is great...

Does the guy have another one :)

Tolga

Super nice find! I wish I could find an A600 or A1200 in that shape, I'd never let it out of my site.

Sadly, the A500s have the battery issue to consider. I would be torn whether to leave it original knowing the bloody thing could be eating itself away inside, or break the warranty seal and rescue it.

Have you tried powering it?

A500s did not have batteries. Their expansions on the other hand did. They can be accessed without breaking the seal.

They do however have capacitors. Do the A500s have the same problems as 1200s?

No, they do not have the same issues. In fact I have never heard of an A500 needing new caps. They probably will eventually, but it doesn't seem like that time has come yet. Only the 600, 1200, CD32 and 4000 have those issues afaik.
And yes, the A500s did not have any batteries inside, only the A500+ did. Open the trapdoor and check for any batteries on the expansion. Either remove the expansion or cut away the battery if there is one.

Edit: Oh, and grats on the find. Looks like a nice one. I assume it has been used after all and not just been in the box its whole life? It looks quite mint from what I can see.
