Hi y'all,
I'm Dion (username "dionoid"), 47 yrs old and living in The Netherlands. I got my first C64 breadbin back in 1983 and soon after that started programming in BASIC with a touch of Assembly to speed up things. I sold my C64 in 1986 to buy an Amiga 500. I really liked the Amiga, but the C64 was my true first love.
Soon after that I went to college to start studying Computer Science and did my developing on a PC; those 286/386 machines were so limited compared to the Amiga!
Fast-forward 25 years and now Commodore is back in my life... just two months ago I bought myself a C64 (and after that a C64-II) and decided to (re)learn Assembly and this time really understand the ins & outs of the C64.
Also, I've built a C64-Pi from a 'dead' C64, which you can read here: https://medium.com/@dionoid/building-a-c64-pi-8cb6276031a3
I just recently joined AmiBay and really like this community. I also like how members help one another and internally sell books/hardware at reasonable prices; Commodore fans should support each other, right? And AmiBay is behind that 100%!
Cheers,
Dion
