Hello. Just wondering if theres anyone/any company in the UK that can recap my old PC motherboard? There's no leaks or damages to the motherboard itself - everything is fully working. But would like to get it recapped before any of this happens (and considering said motherboard was made during the capacitor plague era 😉 )

Recepping is only necessary on motherboards that are affected by the 'capacitor plague' which was really affecting capacitors between 2000 to 2006.

For example my ASUS P3B-F which runs Windows 98SE and Windows 2000 doesn't need that. However my P5P800 SE (2005) which runs XP and Vista required a huge amount of work with special soldering equipment as these then had lead free solder that requires higher temperatures.

May I ask what MoBo you own and suspect would require recapping?

Try Mutant Catterpillar based in Anglesey, Wales. Ian is a pro 👍🏻

Hi

Thanks for the reply (sorry for late reply). The said mobo is an FIC VA 503+ rev 1.2a (made in either '99 or 2000 i'm guessing). It's more of a precautionary thing really - no damage or signs of leakage. But its probably better to get it done now rather than later.
