Whilst we're on the subject of the C128.... hope this isn't a hijack >.< but anyone know what's going on inside my C128?

I moved your post to the AmiOracle area for someone to assist you. I'm not exactly sure if the brown and white wires on your board are a factory mod or one that someone else installed. Factory mods that look like this were often done to fix minor problems with batches of boards.
