Hello Amibay.

I've been busy lately because i have moved to a new flat.

Althought it is twice bigger than the previous mine, my wife has convinced me to drop most of my computers for my new desk.

After a great deal of thoughts, i've decided to keep my Amiga 4000 only (and my A500Plus in a suitecase nearby in case i need an Amiga to rewrite emergency floppies for the A4000 and because i can't part with my first Amiga).
It will remain with my Toshiba 18' laptop and my Mac Mini G4 and that's all. No more fancy A2000 or A1200 for now and these ones are heading for a safe storage elsewhere.

For this new setup, i need help from my fellow computer fans for something:
My wife hate cables. Obviously, a huge lot of cables and wires are visible under my desk. I need a suitable solution to hide all of them at once, including two heavy electrical outlets.
I've seen something like this http://lifehacker.com/5299994/rain-gutters-as-cable-management-tools.
But i can't drill in my weak IKEA tables.
Any better idea would be nice.

Thanks for your help.

PS: by the way, i never actually made contact with that previous neighboor of mine https://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=38652

I did a cheaper version of what you linked to. I just drilled some small hooks under the table. Then I grouped and rolled the cables, put a few cable-ties around them and hung one of the cable-ties from the hook. Keeps everything tidy for a few cents and any table should manage that.

Bryce.

Both ideas sound fine, but as Xanxi mentioned an Ikea (yeah, i know...) desk, drilling through that would probably be disastrous. Maybe find a thin sheet of solid wood and adhere it underneath your desk with some strong glue, then drill on to that?

Here is the IKEA solution.

It needs to drill the table and can't work with mine according to IKEA. I need a plain wood table.

A similar solution that plugs on the back of the table would be great.

Can't you screw that to the wall?
Yes, it would be turned 90 degrees, but with tie wraps, or even better Velcro you could still hold your cables in there.

Also A good epoxy would work..
