Ok..
Talktalk suck..
I wont go in to how theire customer service dont help, cant help and instead of putting you through to a supervisor that can help rather give you £30 credit so you dont complain about them..

what i will say is this..

In early november i sent them a considerable ammount of moneys. 3 digits.
And i was told that id "go live" mid december.. seemed a bit exessive as BT said they could have done it in 2 weeks.. any way being the cheapo i am. i went with talk talk..

they said id get a welcome pack 4 days before i went live.. well that never arrived. then the go live date came and went. so i keep calling them. and they said they couldnt help.

Eventually they told me my new "go live" date is now mid february..

i asked the lady what could i do to move the service closer to todays date..
i was expecting a reply like "if you pay £50 the engineer will come out in a week"
the reply i got was..
"you should probably go to a diferent company.."

is this really how people run buisinesses these days?
i remember when we set up the phone here through bt. they set a date and they missed it by a week.
we got £600 compensation..

With talk talk they just say "yeah we suck, we know we suck. maybe you should go to some one els"

But they are by far the cheapest provider for my area..
Stupid stinking talk talk.

I am with TalkTalk and I have no complaints but have seen feedback differs across the range.

My switchover from SKY with painless, they sorted the whole thing and I got all my equipment and was switched over within 10 days which was great as I could actually browse the net between 4 and 11pm!

Shocking that they effectively said try another company!

Why is there such a delay in 'getting connected'?

Talk Talk are indeed a steaming Pile of donkey s**t. I'd highly reccommend O2 for value and customer service and not to mention faster then the 400Kbps I have to deal with.

I'm experiencing good service with Talk Talk like RED IMPACT, I know I am another bucking the trend.

I pay the half the amount I used to BT and Zen Internet and get even faster internet (thanks to ADSL2). I do notice that my torrents are slower after 4-6pm but otherwise I am happy.

It is not for everyone and TBH I think it depends upon your exchange, whether it is LLU, how congested etc. etc. but I am lucky so far.

Talk talk.. the company that we have ever had bailiffs from.. it was amusing when they arrived collect what we owed them. Dad gave them written warnings they sent us saying pay £0.00 or will pass your details on to a debt collector's. Even better was gave them 4 mac codes and they never switched the broadband over from zen. A few months later my adsl vanished, never syncing.. They had unplugged the in my adsl . was a bt line and connected to zens llu equipment in exchange, after moving the phone back to bt months previous

the delay is because.. "engineer must come and survay the area sir"
but he also says that febuary is not a guarantee so it could get pushed back again..

I said so basically your just putting my money in the bank and collecting interest on it?
he said "we do not collect interest sir"
So i asked him
"do you just have piles of money in the office then because if its in a bank then your getting interest on it"
to which he said
"i would need to check that sir"

so i sent a letter to watch dog and will get in contact with citizens advice about getting in touch with trading standards who apparantlyy dont deal directly with consumers.

oh and i forgot to mention..
if you ask to speak to a manager they are always in a meeting that will last 1 or 2 hours.. and if you call back 2 hours later.. they are in a meeting that will last one or 2 hours..
they say they will call you back within 48 hours.. and then never do..

Talk talk would have to pay ME to go back to them. Truly terrible. Avoid!

its a matter of £45 a month vs £16 a month..

Bit of a difference there.

I would suggest if you are not a heavy user get a mobile broadband dongle for the time being as you could be waiting a while for TalkTalk to get their arse in gear (if at all!)

last year i had talktalk knocking on my door and saying they bought my isp AND BT and i had to transfer over to them. WTF like ??

I told them where to go and never looked back.

By the way i have my net with Sky and i have never had any problems
